The web of today is a smashing success due to its openness, low friction for users, reach, and easy discoverability. But it also has its set of challenges that we need to address together, by improving the consistency of user experience, reliability, and accessibility and engagement of web content around the world. In this talk we’ll take a tour of the macro trends — as we see them at Google — shaping the web, discuss where the core technologies powering the web platform are heading, and outline how and where we can all pitch in to build the (better) web of tomorrow, together.
